What will you be learning when joining our college? Each one of our classes will start off teaching you ergonomics on how to stand and where to hold your arms how to move the chair up and down to keep your body in the correct position to keep you safe while working. You will learn the right type of shoes to wear to keep your feet in their best health. Sanitation is a very large part of working with the public, so this will be something that you will learn to keep you safe and the public safe. Our classes teach the bones, muscles, blood vessels, nerves, the body systems also about cells and how they form. Proper draping of our clients for different services. These are important to know to help you understand what is going on with your client’s hair skin and nails. You will learn about how electricity and how to stay safe and how not to over load your circuits. The foundations of color and how to mix correct formulas to achieve the wanted colors in hair and also in the makeup area. Communication is so important that you will learn how to ask questions to discover the needs of your clients and what they like and what they don’t like. The foundations of the structure of the hair will allow you to know which services will not work for a specific client and which will work for your client.
Our Esthetics classes will include learning to use the most common machines used in the facial’s salons and spas. Our school uses the Myolift machine, diamond dermabrasion machine, derma plaining, led light therapy, 5 in 1 machine and so much more. Waxing is a great add on service and a service that can stand alone, you will learn to use hard and soft wax, proper application and removal.
The Class A barber student will concentrate on the tools for shaving along with the proper ways to shave, do edge-ups, they work on designs in their fades, learning to color the hair and add volume with perms.
Each of the different foundational skills will be taught in hands on practice along with the student’s textbook. Each student will have a study guide to answer questions in and take notes to help remember the information being taught. Evaluations will be given to evaluate each student’s progress through their program. Hands on test to prepare you for your state board test will be done also to help the student learn the state board expectations and cause the learner to be relaxed and know the timing and necessary skills to enable the student to pass their state board examination.
