BARBER PROGRAM
1000 Clock Hours
Achieve your full potential in modern hair cutting, hair styling, shaving, clipper cuts, beard design and manicuring. Gain the knowledge and skills to become a licensed Class A Barber through demonstrations, hands-on practice, and classroom study. No previous experience required. Only a heart for people and making them feel and look better while giving an excellent service. Our students are encouraged to bring in their future clients to go through hands on training, under the supervision of one of our expert Instructors. When the student develops a clientele here at the college their clientele will follow them to their salon of choice. During the course of study, the student will learn many different haircuts starting on the first day by doing a basic haircut on their mannequin, one thing about learning the basics on a mannikin is that the mannequin just keeps smiling and never complains. The student’s mannequin will be used for all new training before the student works on the public. From color to highlights and permanents waves to relaxers the mannequin will have many different looks in the Phase 1 part of the Class A Barber course students learning paths. In our Phase 1 class the Class A Barber students will learn facial manipulations as well as basic facial manulipiations. Proper Manicuring protocols will be practiced in the course as the student learns about the bones and muscles in the hand to better care for their client. Class A Barberscourse will offer education in business, retail, resume writing as well as all the different hair styles, facial, and manicure services taught at Surfside Salon & Beauty College.
